Born Sarpsborg, Norway, 1962; BSc (Diploma) 1983, analytical chemistry, Østfold University College, Sarpsborg, Norway; MSc 1987, chemical engineering/organic chemistry, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway; PhD in organic chemistry 1995, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden with Professor Svante Wold and Professor Rolf Carlson as supervisors; Research scientist at Nycomed Imaging (now GE Healthcare), Department of Organic Process R&D, 1988-1994. Senior research scientist (Borregaard Synthesis) affiliated and worked in the research group of Professor Francesco Minisci at Department of Chemistry, Milan Polytechnic, Italy, 1994-1998; Section Manager R&D at Borregaard Synthesis, Sarpsborg, Norway, 1998-1999. Associate professor in organic synthesis at Department of Chemistry, University of Bergen 1999-2002, and Professor of Chemistry same place from 2002 to date. Chair man Ingar Løken, MSc, PhD
MSc 1964 and PhD in chemical engineering 1973, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway; He has advanced marketing management education from INSEAD in 1989. Dr. Løken has a broad work experience as general manger (1999-2003) Amersham Health China/Hong Kong, general manager (1997-1998) Borregaard Taicang Chemicals, technical director (1995-1996) Borregaard Synthesis, technical director (1991-1994) Eurovanillin. At Borregaard Ind. Ltd. he has held several various positions: sales- and marketing manager (1989-1990), production manager (1979-1988), business development project engineer (1974-1978), Ph.D. studies within reactor technology and oxidation processes (1970-1973), and research engineer (1968-1969). At Bofors/Nobel kemi he held a position as research engineer (1966-1967). Currently dr. Løken is working as a consultant for Norwegian industry within business development in China.

Board member Prof. Harald Høiland, MSc, PhD
M.Sc. 1970 and Ph.D. 1977 in physical chemistry both at the University of Bergen. Professor Høiland have an very broad experience form leader positions both within the University sector as well as in technology companies and various committees at national level: member of the University board, Member of the board at the department of Chemistry, Pro-dean and chairman at the committee for teaching at the faculty of Mathematical Natural Sciences, Member of the board at Meltzers Foundation, Dean at the faculty of Mathematical Natural Sciences, member of the board at Unifob foundation, Chairman at the national Science faculty meeting, and chaiman of the Unifob foundation. External commission includes, board member/leader of: Link Instruments a/s, Norwegian Superconductors a/s, Terra Environment a/s, Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Centre, Vestlandsutvikling, Rogalandsforskning, Gasskonferansen i Bergen, NorFa, PRS AS,  Forinova AS, Akvamiljø AS, University college of Stavanger. Moreover he has also a broad experience from work in the Norwegian research council: member of the PNG committee (NAVF), member of strategic committee for offshore technology (NTNF/NFR), chairman of the committee for advanced scientific equipments, and member of the board of the bioproduction and processing industry.
